JODY Banim is confident his Warrington Rylands side can upset high-flying Gainsborough Trinity on Saturday.
His first concern, however, is getting enough fit players to take a competitive side to Lincolnshire.
Having seen their four-match unbeaten run in the league ended by Nantwich Town last time out, Blues picked up further injury and suspension problems during the game at Gorsey Lane.
Midfielder Jak McCourt was sent off and his resultant three-match ban rules him out of contention until the trip to Marine on January 2.
Banim also saw two more key players limp out of the game in the shape of leading goalscorer Callum Dolan and defender Scott Duxbury.
“We’ve got injuries now and we really could have done without Jak’s suspension – he misses three games now, starting with Saturday,” the manager said.
“With the injuries we’re carrying at this moment in time, we’re going to have to wrap everyone up in cotton wool this week to make sure we get a strong side out against Gainsborough.
“Scott’s been carrying a knock since Stalybridge – he’s getting pins and needles in his ankle.
“We’ll have to manage his load and make sure he stays off it. It’s loosening it up more than anything.
“He’s a big player for us and he’s been really good since he came in.
“Callum Dolan tweaked his knee in the first minute on Saturday and wasn’t quite himself in the first half. He’s carrying it through the second half as well so we had to make that change.”
All of Rylands’ next four games up to and beyond Christmas are against sides currently in the Northern Premier League Premier Division’s top seven, starting with Saturday’s trip to the third-placed Holy Blues.
After that, they visit Bamber Bridge (5th) and host Radcliffe (7th) before the trip to a Marine side currently sat in fourth brings in the new year.
Despite the difficult run of fixtures facing his 10th-placed side, Banim is bullish about their prospects.
“Before Saturday, we’d been on a really good run and there’s a real shift in dynamics in the changing room,” he said.
“We’re looking at the league table and the fixtures positively.
“I know we can go to Gainsborough and win – we’ve just got to dust ourselves down and look at what we can improve.”
A boost to the Blues squad has been provided in the shape of in-form youngster Kelly N’Mai extending his spell with the club.
The forward’s loan from League Two side Salford City has been lengthened by a further month, meaning he will be available up to and including January 2.
N’Mai has scored three times in 11 appearances since moving to Gorsey Lane in October.
