JODY Banim believes it is “a matter of time” until Warrington Rylands start climbing the Northern Premier League Premier Division table.

A winless October had set them back but they have taken four points from their past two league games.

The last of those was an impressive comeback to earn a point at high-flying FC United of Manchester, with Blues scoring twice in the final five minutes to secure a 2-2 draw.

Their next game sees Morpeth Town visit Gorsey Lane on Saturday and Banim wants to see his side take their recent upturn in form and convert it into a sustained positive run.

“We’re a good side with a good squad of players,” he said.

“I look at that dressing room and I think there’s enough quality in it to go anywhere in this league and win.

"We showed at South Shields and we showed at FC United on Saturday that we're a match for anyone in this league.

“We’re a match for anybody and I think it’s a matter of time before we start climbing the table and racking up the wins.

“The next four games are crucial – we need to build on Saturday's performance and start picking up wins on a regular basis. We’ve got to kick on.”

Rylands looked set for defeat at Broadhurst Park on Saturday when Regan Linney – the NPL Premier Division’s leading scorer – struck twice for the home side.

However, debutant Ajay Leitch-Smith pulled a goal back before Sam Egerton levelled matters shortly afterwards.

Forward Leitch-Smith – a veteran of more than 250 professional appearances – and full-back Scott Duxbury were making their Blues bows on Saturday while injury prevented a debut for Kallum Mantack, the defender brought in from Matlock Town last week.

“They’re really good footballers,” Banim said of his new additions.

“Ajay is a Football League player and Scott Duxbury has been there and done it at levels above this as well.

“Unfortunately, Kallum Mantack picked up a knock but he’s another real quality player.

“We’ve added real competition to the squad and on Saturday, the subs came on and boosted us to get a point.

"We’re blessed to have those options. The club have backed us to bring those players in to bolster us and give us the numbers we felt we really needed, so we thank them for that."
