WARRINGTON Rylands came away from Guiseley with a point this afternoon – but caretaker manager Jody Banim believes it should have been so much more.
Indeed, he insists the 1-1 draw in Yorkshire was “two points dropped rather than a point gained.”
Callum Dolan’s ninth goal of the season – a penalty converted six minutes after half time – gave Blues the lead but parity was restored four minutes later by Lebrun Mbeka’s equaliser.
“It should have been three points,” Banim said post-match.
“The goal is disappointing – we’ve just spent a fair bit of time discussing it but it’s another set piece where we’ve not marked well enough. It’s too easy a header and we’ve got to look at that.
“I’m really pleased with the way we’re playing and conversatively, we could have scored four or five goals today with the chances we’ve created. We’ve just been a little bit sloppy when we’ve got in there.
“We’ve been utterly dominant and limited them to next to nothing. I don’t think Sam Tickle has had a save to make.
“It’s a real shame we’re talking about just getting a point as it should have been a lot more. It’s two points dropped rather than a point gained.”
