GRAPPENHALL Cricket Club battled to a hard-fought win at Bramhall by 20 runs.
The result puts Grappers within three points of being promoted back to the Premier Division, with 75 available across the club's final three games of the 2022 season.
Grappers had a rare off day with the bat, though, as they struggled to 160-9 wickets off their 50 overs, Ben Bodha top scoring with 39 not out in a gutsy innings.
Bramhall looked like damaging Grappers' hopes of promotion at 87-3, but the bowlers performed superbly to get their side back into the game.
Bramhall were bowled out for 140 with 10 balls left in the game.
Grappers still sit top of the table, with Timperley in third and Cheadle in second to play over the next two weeks.
It means that the destiny is in their own hands.
Timperley will be their visitors on Saturday.
The seconds struggled in their game at home to Timperley as they were bowled out for just 93, Sunder Bhinder top scoring with 27.
Grappers put up a fight in the second half, claiming five wickets, but were not able to force an unlikely win.
The result sees them sitting in mid-table with three weeks of the season to go.
