Milford Marlins 32 Crosfields 28.
CROSFIELDS narrowly missed out on victory for a second successive week as they were beaten by Milford in National Conference League Division Two.
Crosfields just failed to clinch a shock win against Normanton seven days previously but responded to an early Milford try as Terry Reid crashed over, with Pete Royle converting.
Two more tries from the hosts put them 16-8 in front but efforts from Chris Burgess and Phil Bannon then gave Crosfields a 20-16 half-time lead.
Milford seized back the advantage with two tries after the interval, though, and despite efforts from Jack Smith and Matt Thomas the home side always remained a step ahead.
Crosfields host Hull Isberg on Saturday at 2.30pm.
