WARRINGTON Schoolboys' under 11s football team are through to the Barnet Shield House quarter finals after defeating Kirkby on penalties.

Warrington, who face Liverpool in the last four at Liverpool FA headquarters on March 12, had Jud Thorniley in fine form and went ahead thanks to Scott Burgess' fine strike.

Ben Potter was then denied by the Kirkby goalkeeper but Warrington's opponents equalised before half time and levelled again following Burgess' second-half header.

The match went into extra time but a goalless additional period led to a penalty shoot-out, from which Warrington emerged as winners to reach their fifth cup semi final in four years.
