EXPERIENCED half back Michael Monaghan believes Wolves may have to be a little less adventurous in their approach in matches at certain times in order to achieve strong 80-minute performances.
Wolves have shown so far this season that they do look good when playing the game at a riproaring pace, spraying the ball all over the field.
That showed as Wolves built up a stunning five-try lead in 25 minutes against Hull KR on Sunday but handling errors in the second half perhaps prevented them from taking the sting out of the home side's fightback.
Monaghan said: "I think that's our strength but it's also our weakness.
"You've got to know in games when you really need to settle it down.
"There were times when we threw too many loose passes against Hull KR and we weren't playing footy that was that quick. There are times when you just need to rein yourself in a little bit and that'll come.
"It was a pretty deflated feeling in the sheds (dressing rooms). To play so well in the first half and throw it away in the second half has given us something to work on.
"Hopefully, we'll be doing that and I don't think it's far away from us putting together a really good 80 minutes together. It's a long season and we've got two wins on the board.
"That's a good start to the year."
The scrum half has already become a terrace favourite with Warrington fans after following up a man of the match performance against Hull with sterling efforts against St Helens and Hull KR despite a hamstring injury.
He said: "The hamstring was still restricting me at training leading up to the Hull KR game.
"I only had my first session the day before the game, which makes it a little bit hard, but hopefully I will be rid of it for the Catalans game.
"It has been a little bit restricting as I've not been able to take off as quickly as I would have liked during games. And getting into the later part of a game when I'm getting fatigued it has started to bother me a bit but I got through the 80 minutes at Hull KR without too much trouble."
Monaghan feels he is settling in well with Wolves and steadily getting used to the British-style game.
He said: "We've got two wins on the board and I haven't played badly, yet, so that's a start.
"We had some good touches against Hull KR through myself and Lee Briers, and I think the more the season progresses the better we'll get."
