WARRINGTON RUFC's poor away form continued with defeat at Southport in South Lancashire/ Cheshire Two on Saturday.

Warrington have not won away from home for three months and, despite the sides scoring one try each, kicks at goal proved to be the difference.

Southport went ahead with two penalties before Paul Yeadon finished off a well-worked Warrington try.

But another Southport penalty put them 9-5 in front before the hosts rounded off victory with a try after half time.

Warrington, who are still in the promotion race, host Crewe and Nantwich at Walton Lea Road on Saturday.
