WARRINGTON Town will be hoping to end a run of four successive defeats when they host Alsager Town at Cantilever Park on Saturday at 3pm.
Town paid the price for failing to take their chances against Shepshed Albion in UniBond Soccer League First Division South at the weekend, falling to a 2-1 defeat.
Warrington missed a clutch of first-half chances, while third bottom Shepshed rallied in the second half to leave Paul Moore with just one win from his 15 games in charge so far.
Thomas Lamb and Karl Rendell left their shooting boots in the changing rooms, while Gavin Lynch was unable to beat goalkeeper Gary Hateley after racing clear.
A handball led to a Town penalty in the 66th minute with Karl Brown striking successfully but within minutes Shepshed equalised with a looping header from Jamie Clarke.
A defensive howler opened the way for Shepshed substitute Eugene Francis to score the winner after 73 minutes.
Connor Taylor had several chances to rescue a point but his efforts were matched by Hateley.
Town: Shane McWeeney, Steve Everett, Chris Fitzsimmons, Ben Heath, Tom Spearritt, Karl Brown, Gavin Lynch, Francis Smith, Karl Rendell, Thomas Lamb, Scott Williams. Subs used: Connor Taylor, Anthony Daniels. Sub not used: Brian Holmes.
* Town's reserves lost 4-1 in the Cheshire Soccer League on Saturday.
