VINNIE Anderson believes a strong bench will be of great benefit to Warrington Wolves this year.
The depth in talent available at the start of the season enabled Paul Cullen to give each of his pack men a rest against Hull in the opener at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
And while players are still battling for 80-minute match fitness at the dawn of the new campaign, rotating the players can play a crucial part in a game.
Anderson, who played 60 minutes at loose forward against Hull, said: "We had Paul Johnson and Rob Parker on the bench.
"They came on and were flying so we're quite lucky that we can bring those sort of players on. We can afford to give players a bit of a rest.
"Young Pickers went well when he came on, he's a really exciting prospect.
"It's a 17-man game and having a really strong bench like we have is important."
