BIRTHDAY boy Vinnie Anderson is looking forward to his first return to Knowsley Road tomorrow, Friday.
Anderson, who celebrates his 29th birthday today, joined Wolves from St Helens for a £50,000 transfer fee in time for the start of the 2007 season but was unavailable for Super League and Challenge Cup clashes at Knowsley Road last year due to the back injury that hindered his campaign.
"It was really hard missing out," he said.
"I couldn't even go to the cup game, to be honest. I watched it on TV and I thought we had them at one stage but that's the way it goes with Warrington versus Saints.
"It looks like we've got them and then they get out of it in the end so hopefully we'll turn that around.
"Warrington-Saints is a very big game and I'm just really looking forward to it.
"You always want to test yourself against the best teams and they're right up there so it should be good."
Kiwi international Vinnie is glad to report he came through Friday's Super League opener against Hull in a healthy state, with his back troubles now appearing to be in the past thanks to a pre-season rest.
Not only was it enjoyable for the loose forward to gain the win against the Airlie Birds but also to be playing alongside his brother Louis, who is in his first season with Wolves after signing from NRL ouutfit New Zealand Warriors.
Warrington had two sets of brothers in the same line-up for the first time in at least 50 years thanks to Martin and Mark Gleeson taking to the field alongside the Andersons.
"Just looking to your outside and seeing your brother helps a lot when you're on the field," said Vinnie.
"One of the boys was saying that when I got hit high in the Hull game Louis was the first one to come running in and push them off.
"It's nice to know he's got my back covered. And anytime he wants to supply me for a try like he did against Hull that's fine by me. I'll do my best to pay him back."
Vinnie is generally enjoying spending time with his brother and family.
And it is a good job he is, too, with nine Andersons, including Louis' two-week-old daughter Layla, sharing one house at this time.
Louis and his family are expected to move into a place of their own in the future but Vinnie says: "We came over to spend more time with each other so I'm enjoying having him, his wife and new baby at our place.
"We enjoy each other's company so there's no drama.
"There's nine in the house - it's a bit like the Brady Bunch. We're having a lot of fun.
"Layla's a really good baby. Louis and his wife are doing really well with her. She's sleeping through the night so she's a pleasure to have in the house."
Vinnie may be mentally strong enough to be able to hack it on the rugby field but he has not yet found what it takes to change his niece's nappy though.
"Uncles don't change nappies," he said with a giggle.
"We just hold them after they've been fed and changed."
