ELLIS Robson is staying with Warrington Wolves after all and is being praised for his dedicated approach to realising his potential.

The 22-year-old forward, who has impressed in the first-team since making his debut against Hull last month, had originally signed for newly-formed Championship club Ottawa Aces in 2021.

But the Academy graduate has changed his mind and now signed a new two-year deal with The Wire.

“I’m buzzing to have signed a new deal with Warrington," said Robson.

"I’ve been here since I was 15 and having come through the club’s Academy it’s a dream come true to stay.

"Warrington are one of the top teams in Super League so to sign a new two-year deal is a really special opportunity and one I couldn’t turn down.

“It shows that there is a pathway for the younger lads coming through and hopefully I can kick on now.

“I’m still excited for Ottawa and the journey they’re going to be on.

"I’d like to thank them for the opportunity and I wish them all the best for the 2021 season. When I’m not playing for Warrington I’ll be an Ottawa fan.”

Robson has made three further appearances since his debut in the 37-12 win by an understrength Wire side against Hull at Headingley, playing in a number of roles in the pack.

"Myself and our playing group are all delighted that Ellis will be staying with us," said head coach Steve Price.

"He's a popular member of the squad and has demonstrated high standards since making his debut for the first team this season.

"He’s also a great role model for young players in our Academy system who are looking to follow in his footsteps.

"We're sure that there is still a lot of improvement in Ellis and his dedication in the gym and on the training field suggests that he has what it takes to reach his potential."
