FOR the first time in almost a century, The Wire 'nilled' St Helens at home in a league match on Thursday.
The 19-0 win at The Halliwell Jones Stadium was the ninth time Warrington have kept Saints scoreless in a home league game – but the first since winning 11-0 in October 1921.
Between 1897/98 and 1905/06, Warrington 'nilled' their near neighbours on six occasions.
Thursday was also only the fourth time The Wire have kept their opponent to nil in a Super League home match.
The other three were:
07/02/2010 – 58-0 vs Harlequins
13/05/2011 – 62-0 vs Castleford Tigers
12/04/2015 – 80-0 vs Wakefield Trinity Wildcats
