CO-CAPTAINS Chris Hill and Jack Hughes are absent from Warrington Wolves’ squad for tomorrow’s pre-season friendly against Salford Red Devils.

Head coach Steve Price has named a strong starting 13 for Mike Cooper’s testimonial match at The Halliwell Jones Stadium, but neither prop Hill or second rower Hughes are included.

New signing Matty Ashton starts at full-back, with Stefan Ratchford partnering Blake Austin in the halves as marquee addition Gareth Widdop is out with an ankle injury.

In Hill's absence, Joe Philbin starts alongside Cooper in the front row, with Ben Murdoch-Masila in the second row and Jason Clark at loose forward.

Anthony Gelling starts in the centres with fellow new signing Keanan Brand among the substitutes.

Newest signing Leilani Latu flies to England on Sunday.
