WARRINGTON Town have confirmed the signing of midfielder Greg Tansey.
The 30-year-old has been training with Yellows for some time but is available to make his debut in today's BetVictor Northern Premier Division trip to Radcliffe.
Liverpool-born Tansey has spent most of his career playing in Scotland, most notably for Inverness Caledonian Thistle where he played alongside current Town defender Dave Raven.
Together, they helped Thistle win the Scottish Cup in 2015.
Tansey can also count Aberdeen, Stockport County, Stevenage and St Mirren among his former clubs but has been battling injuries and a diagnosis with osteomyelitis, a rare and painful bone infection, of late.
Nevertheless, Yellows boss Paul Carden believes he will help bring the best out of his new teammates.
"He’ll bring quality and goals from midfield to add to what we’ve got," he said of Tansey.
"He’s different – he has a range of passing that it’s fair to say we haven’t got.
"He’s that creative midfielder to add to the strength of our other midfielders and bring out the best in them.
"His technical ability and passing range is ridiculous."
