WARRINGTON-BORN Emily Rudge has made the shortlist for rugby league's newest individual award.
The former Cardinal Newman High School pupil is in the running to be named the Telegraph Woman of Steel, which is in its second year as recognition of the player voted as the best in the Betfred Women's Super League.
Back-rower Rudge has scored nine tries in 11 appearances for St Helens this season as they sit second in the table and captained England in their last international against France last year.
Rudge is up against Castleford Tigers outside-back Kelsey Gentles and Leeds Rhinos half-back Courtney Hill, with the winner to be announced at the Betfred Super League awards night on October 6.
