STEVE Price says today’s Challenge Cup semi-final win over Hull FC typified what his Warrington Wolves side are about.

The Wire booked a place in their second consecutive Wembley final with a 22-14 win at the University of Bolton Stadium.

They will face either St Helens on August 24 and after losing the final to Catalans last year, Price says his side are determined not to be losers again.

“This time, we want to be brides not bridesmaids,” he said.

“I’m really pleased for the boys – we’ve had a rough couple of weeks with a few speedbumps but I always knew what team we had.

“That typified what we represent today. We showed a fair amount of fighting spirit and that’s what we’ve built our DNA upon.

“It was a brutal, tough game of footy. The most pleasing thing for me was that we stayed at it and didn’t shy away from the challenges.”

Price threw a selection curveball by bringing Stefan Ratchford back into the side after two months out with a pectoral injury.

He confirmed when the decision to include Ratchford in his side was made.

“It was a big call that we made yesterday,” he said.

“It’s a credit to Stef – to turn around a torn pec in nine-and-a-half weeks is unbelievable.

“Big credit to our medical staff and high-performance staff as well.

“He’s the ultimate professional and I’m really pleased for him.”

The decision to bring Ratchford back in was quickened by a training injury to winger Josh Charnley, with Jake Mamo filling his spot on the right wing.

Price says Charnley has gone under the knife and will be out for a number of weeks.

“Josh had an operation yesterday. He’s got a slight meniscal tear in his knee,” he said.

“I don’t see it being a major issue. He’s got a couple of weeks to get that right.”
