Leeds Rhinos visit The Halliwell Jones Stadium for the opening game of the season in just over three weeks and head coach Steve Price appeared positive about his chances of being fit for that game.
He also provided an update on long-term injury absentees Ben Currie (knee) and Jack Johnson (broken leg).
“With Benny Murdoch, it’s just a day-to-day proposition. He’s getting very close,” he said.
“At the moment, Ben Currie is still a few weeks away.
“He’s doing extremely well and he’s in a really good place, but if the game was this Saturday or next Saturday, he wouldn’t be a chance.
“Jack Johnson is still a little bit away. The bone is healing and he’s in a really good place as well.”
