STEVE Price issued an update on a few of The Wire’s walking wounded following today’s defeat to St Helens.
Half-backs Kevin Brown and Tyrone Roberts both left the field in the first half, leaving Dec Patton and Harvey Livett to finish the game in the halves.
Wire's defeat to Saints as it happened
Roberts failed a concussion test after being caught by the knee of Matty Lees in a challenge that saw the Saints prop sin-binned.
Brown was taken off just after scoring the game’s opening try and Price confirmed he had sufferance a recurrence of his abductor muscle injury.
Bodene Thompson played on despite injuring his ribs, while Ben Murdoch-Masila was plagued by his troublesome ankle that has seen him miss the past two weeks.
“It was hard work losing Tyrone and Kev early. Kev has another abductor problem.
“Both our back rowers were struggling for long periods as well.
“I’ve got the utmost faith in our medical staff to get things right.”
The seven-day concussion protocol means Roberts is almost certain to miss Friday’s trip to Wakefield Trinity, while Price looks highly likely to rest a few more bodies ahead of the semi-final in 12 days’ time.
