WIRE supporters took to social media to give their reactions to news of Tyrone Roberts’ decision to leave the club at the end of the season and their thoughts on who may replace him.
Plenty of fans gave the Australian credit for being honest about his struggles and for announcing his decision early enough so as not to leave the club in a desperate situation.
Here is some of what has been said since the news was announced on Monday morning.
Warrington Wolves – Warrington Guardian Facebook page:
Edward Williams: No surprise it's the same with most Aussie players let's hope we win a trophy or two before he goes
Sheila Hulme: Good luck to him it’s not all about money, his family must come first
Stuart Wilson: Worst kept secret. I hope we see the best of him for the rest of the season
Ged Upham: It’s disappointing but if he’s not settled and his family aren’t then it’s the only sensible thing. Having worked overseas I know how horrible homesickness can be. I wish him well and I’m sure he’ll want to leave on a high.
Wynne Mitchell: Why do we allow these clauses in player contracts. If they want to come they wouldn’t need them. Why do we allow our club to keep getting let down by overseas players.
Mark Christopher Moore: Poor this again. It seems bringing over big name NRL players is a risk so hope we look at a player who isn’t as well established or one already in SL.
Al Worrall: At least he's been honest and professional and not just upped and left. Gives us time to sort out the necessary replacement (which has already been sorted) and now he can enjoy his rugby with no pressure looming over him.

ninearches: What has the Gold Coast got that Warrington hasn't?
The Resident: Still waiting to see the Tyrone Roberts that appeared on his highlights reel? He has been no better than average up to now!
WHO COULD REPLACE HIM?
Warrington Wolves – Warrington Guardian Facebook page:
Josh Callon: Kyle Eastmond looks almost certain, will take a bit of time to fit back into league but will be a good signing when he hits form again in league.
Stephen Savage: Go out and get Robert Lui from Salford.
Matt Lewis: Joe Mellor has impressed me whenever he's played against us.
Adam Berry: Wouldn’t go to the NRL for a half back! It would be the same scenario again with the player wanting to leave! Go out and get someone from super league. For me Robert Lui, Albert Kelly or even Ben Reynolds from Leigh.
Rob Smith: Gareth widdop. 3 year deal please.
Warrington Guardian website:
Bakubrit: Eastmond every day of the week. At least he won't get homesick. We've not been very fortunate with Aussie marquee half-back signings of late have we? Twice bitten.
