SIX Warrington racers competed at Oulton Park on Saturday.
Chris Chisnall and Barry Linley enjoyed a race-long battle in the Formula Ford Championship.
Linley started fifth and went on to finish third, while Chisnall also improved from sixth to fourth, giving both drivers a podium finish in their class. Less fortunate was John Farrell, who qualified 16th for his Formula Ford race but stalled as the cars lined up on the grid.
That resulted in him starting last and, although he quickly gained a handful of places, a spin damaged the underside of his car and forced his early retirement.
Andrew Lennie and Chris Hamer lined up in the Ford XR Challenge race. Hamer started second in the Escort XR3i class but slipped to fourth, while Lennie began in seventh after mechanical problems during qualifying. Lennie made steady progress and finished seventh overall and third in the XR3i class.
Andrew Ainsworth raced his MG Midget in the Cockshoot Cup, finishing 13th overall and eighth in his class.
