WARRINGTON RUFC have appointed Steve Peters as their first director of rugby.
Peters, who is also the Cheshire regional development officer for the RFU, will be responsible for developing the club's existing coaching team and coaching structures to benefit all teams at the club.
He has previously coached Wilmslow, Lancashire and Sale Sharks' Academy team and represented Waterloo, Pontypridd, Leicester and South African side Crusaders during his playing career.
Peters said: "I am looking forward to the challenges and opportunities at Warrington, and to working with the enthusiastic existing coaching team.
"We are currently seeing around 80 people at training on Mondays and Thursdays and we hope to attract even more.
"The players seem to be enjoying the structure and variety of the training sessions, and the coaching teams believe that bodes well for a successful season."
Training takes place at Bridgewater Lower School on Mondays and Thursdays at 7pm.
New players are welcome and anyone interested can attend training or contact Peters on 07764 960411.
