WARRINGTON go into Saturday's top-of-the-table clash with Cheadle Hulme on the back of a Cheshire County Cricket League Second Division draw with Mobberley at the weekend.

After four of second-placed Warrington's top five batsmen were dismissed for a duck, Malcolm Agar, 85 runs, and skipper Steve Heydon, 43, knuckled down to a partnership of 108 in the chase for Mobberley's 239 for 6.

Only Paul Agar stood out in Warrington's attack with 2 for 53.

Warrington's seconds struggled to a low total of 120 that proved not to be enough against Christleton, who lost just four wickets in their successful reply. Tim Rothwell worked hard to top the scoring with 29.

Warrington's thirds earned a hard-fought draw after putting Brooklands in to bat on a lively wicket. Warrington dropped six catches but limited Brooklands to 198 after they were 120 for 2. Under 13s bowlers Corcoran and Regan did well on their third-team debuts.

Warrington got off to a slow start in reply but a great sixth-wicket stand by Mike Lindop and Derek Bate got Warrington back into contention.

Thirteen-year-old Sam Houghton took two wickets for Warrington's fourths in their defeat to Cheadle Hulme.

Hulme scored 180 in 40 overs, with Neil Owens taking 3 for 36. Some tight bowling and close fielding resulted in Warrington being bowled out for 46.
