WOLVES have confirmed that Paul Cullen has signed a new two-year contract as head coach of the club.
Cullen's contract had been scheduled to expire at the end of the season but he was offered a new deal by the Wolves board last week and has now committed himself to the club until the end of 2009.
Cullen left Whitehaven to take over as boss in August 2002, saving Wolves from relegation in the latter stages of the season.
Twelve months later he guided the club to sixth position, securing the club's first play-off appearance in the Super League era.
Wolves were beaten at Wigan in the elimination play-off and finished eighth in 2004 but bounced back to take fourth place in 2005.
That season included Andrew Johns' brief spell with the club but saw Wolves suffer a shock home defeat to Hull in the first round of the play-offs.
A tricky mid-season period saw Wolves finish sixth last season but they ended the season in style with their first play-off win of the Super League era.
That victory came against Leeds at Headingley before a narrow defeat at Bradford in the second round of the play-offs.
Wolves had slipped to third bottom in Super League earlier this season after horrendous injury problems but have won four of their last five games to climb back into the top six and persuade the board to hand Cullen a new deal.
