CATALANS Dragons head coach Mick Potter has heaped praise on the supporters who roared his team to their 37-24 victory in yesterday's epic Carnegie Challenge Cup semi-final victory over Wigan Warriors at The Halliwell Jonnes Stadium.
The Dragons, led by former Wolves hero Jerome Guisset, were given great backing - not only by their own fans who travelled to the semi in great numbers, but also by a large number of Wolves supporters who adopted the Dragons for the day.
And now Mick Potter and the squad want to say a big thank you to them all.
"We'd like to say a massive thanks to all the Dragons fans who followed us from Perpigan and the Catalan region and we'd also like to thank everybody from the UK who rallied round to support us yesterday.
"We certainly received a big vocal backing from the Warrington fans and I think there were plenty of neutrals in the stadium who also made their presence felt when they had to. It really was a big boost for us", said Potter.
"Given that there were so many Wigan fans at the match, it was great for our team to get such great vocal support and not only from our own supporters."
Potter added: "We also enjoyed a fantastic reception from the fans at Perpignan airport on our return and it was just a great experience all round."
Meanwhile, tickets for the Carnegie Challenge Cup Final between St Helens and Catalans Dragons at the new Wembley Stadium are still available to buy from the RFL Ticket Office.
Each club has received an allocation of tickets and is selling locally but the RFL is keen to stress that seats for next month's showpiece are still available centrally.
Any supporters wishing to purchase tickets for the Carnegie Challenge Cup Final should call the RFL Ticket Office on 0871 2261313 or click www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk Tickets start at just £21.
The climax to UK Rugby League's oldest and most prestigious knockout tournament will be staged at the new Wembley Stadium for the first time since 1999 and the signs are that Rugby League supporters and event-goers throughout the UK have been excited and inspired by the prospect of the famous match returning to its spiritual home.
An immediate purchase is advised in order to secure a place at the final on Saturday 25th August 2007.
