CHRIS Hicks and Michael Monaghan helped Manly close the gap on Matt King's Melbourne side at the top of the NRL at the weekend.
Hicks and Monaghan, who are both on their way to Warrington next year, featured at hooker and right wing respectively as Manly won 32-24 at Parramatta in a match that saw former St Helens star Jamie Lyon constantly jeered on his first return to his old club.
Manly now only trail Melbourne by two points at the top after the Storm, who included King at left centre, lost 26-16 at Sydney Roosters.
Louis Anderson was again selected for New Zealand Warriors' reserve grade side but will hope to force his way back into the first team for the trip to Sydney Roosters on Sunday.
Manly travel to Brisbane on the same day, while Melbourne make the trip to Cronulla Sharks on Monday.
