LEE Briers scored 28 points as Wolves defeated Hull KR 60-20 on Sunday to move back into the top six for the first time since Easter.

Wolves, who were returning to Craven Park for the first time since last year's Challenge Cup defeat, racked up 11 tries in a thoroughly convincing performance against the relegation-threatened Robins.

Henry Fa'afili and Mark Gleeson came into the starting line-up to replace the injured Paul Johnson and Vinnie Anderson, with Hull KR taking a risk by opting not to select the fit-again Paul Cooke.

Wolves went ahead in the third minute when Lee Briers and Martin Gleeson combined to supply Stuart Reardon, who stepped past Ben Cockayne on the touchline to score a try converted by Briers.

The hosts hit back with a try from Ian Hardman but Wolves soon restored their six-point lead as Chris Bridge put Adrian Morley over after the Great Britain captain had charged down James Webster's kick.

A combination between Jon Clarke and Briers led to Mark Gleeson burrowing over and Brent Grose then broke from halfway to lay on a try for the supporting Clarke.

Briers then started and was in support to finish a move involving Ben Westwood and Reardon, before Bridge touched down the sixth try of the half after Mark Gleeson had ran through Gareth Morton's tackle on the halfway line.

Wolves led 32-4 at the interval and the tries continued in the second half, with Martin Gleeson's superb offload leading to a second try of the game for Reardon in the 42nd minute.

Rovers responded when Ben Fisher scored from dummy half but Briers caught the home side napping from a tap penalty to dart over for his second try.

The Wolves skipper then completed his hat-trick, kicking over the top and then hacking on Grose's offload before pouncing on the ball.

Makali Aizue did pull back another try for Hull KR but Henry Fa'afili twisted over soon afterwards and Clarke again benefited from a supporting run to grab his second try after Martin Gleeson's break.

Briers then kicked his eighth conversion of the match before Morton's late consolation try.
