APPLETON continued their push for promotion from Cheshire Alliance Division One with a last-gasp victory at home to Port Sunlight on Saturday.
Appleton made 156 for 7 in their innings on a soggy pitch, with Ant Hurst making 47 and Rick Clarke staying in for 28 overs for only 29 runs.
Andy Tyrer finished off the innings with a quickfire 28 and Pete Worrall then dug out four wickets to put Appleton in the driving seat.
Ed Sygrove claimed three victims before James Darbyshire took the final wicket on the penultimate ball of the match to dismiss Port Sunlight for 128.
Appleton's second team won their cup clash with Holmes Chapel, who could only make 54 in a match restricted to 20 overs each.
Stu Bate took 2 for 9 before Gareth Bailey hit 23 runs to ensure an eight-wicket victory for the south Warrington side.
The third team drew at home to Capenhurst's seconds after making 140, with Ryan Swart scoring his first half-century for the club.
Chris McClellan and brother Ant each took three wickets to leave Capenhurst clinging on to their last wicket, eventually finishing on 92 for 9.
