A Senior Academy side including Mark Gleeson, Andy Bracek and Ben Harrison edged past Salford 20-18 at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Sunday with John Walker touching down two tries, while Steve Bannister and Steven Roper also crossed and Andy Moulsdale landed two goals.

* Promising under 21s back rower Tyrone McCarthy is expected to be out for between six and 12 months after damaging knee ligaments playing for Great Britain Students against Australian Universities.
Wolves Academy teammate Sam Gee impressed in the final two games of the three-match series, with the Aussies taking a 2-1 win after Great Britain won 31-24 in Widnes last Wednesday but lost 10-6 in Wakefield on Sunday.
Lee Mitchell and Matty Blythe were both in the starting line-up as England Academy under 18s won 40-12 against France Cadets in St Esteve.
