KEVIN Penny says he is flattered that rugby league pundits have compared him to the likes of Martin Offiah.
The 19-year-old has received praise from many influential figures in the game and some have already talked about him being able to reach the same bracket as Offiah - the winger who scored tries galore for Widnes, Wigan and Great Britain.
Penny, who only took up rugby league three years ago, is not one to talk up his own prospects and has made it clear that he intends to keep his feet firmly on the floor.
But he said: "It's absolutely flattering to hear your name in the same sentence as Martin Offiah.
"As a kid I wasn't a rugby league fan so I've never seen Martin Offiah play and I honestly couldn't comment on anything about him. But I do know he's a rugby league legend.
"My two aunties used to love Martin Offiah, so to be compared in the same sentence as him is amazing really.
"He was a class player and an absolute legend and it's a big thing to fill his boots if you like."
