PAUL Cullen has paid tribute to Michael Sullivan's bravery after the hooker momentarily played on with a badly broken arm on Sunday.
Sullivan is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering the break seconds after entering the field of play during Wolves' 42-6 win against Salford.
The Australian underwent an operation at Warrington Hospital on Monday morning and left hospital on Tuesday afternoon.
Cullen said: "Michael Sullivan has a badly broken arm. He took the point of Andy Coley's elbow accidentally in his first tackle.
"As Andy braced he took it right on the forearm and it snapped instantly.
"The video is quite sickening and Michael Sullivan does so well because he actually gets back to his feet and gets involved in the next tackle. The arm was obviously broken and obviously gone.
"He just holds it, gets himself in the tackle and then gets back in the line for the remainder of the set of six, then gets himself off in the corner once the threat has been nullified for himself and his teammates. That's a mark of the man's character.
"It's been plated and screwed, which we believe will need to be unplated and unscrewed before he plays again.
"We're simply waiting for the specialist's advice on that but that's the thought process at the moment.
"His season is done, we think."
