WOLVES have confirmed that Mike Wainwright has left the club to rejoin Salford City Reds.
Wainwright found out recently that he would not be offered a new contract with Wolves for next year and had publicly expressed an interest in moving to another club immediately to secure his future.
Paul Cullen initially signalled his intention to keep Wainwright until the end of 2007 but Wolves have now allowed the second rower to move to The Willows, where he had a spell between 2000 and 2002, before Friday's transfer deadline.
A club statement read: "Warrington Wolves would like to thank Mike for his dedicated service on and off the field and wish him all the best for the future."
Speculation in the media is also linking winger Richie Barnett with a move to Salford before Friday.
There will be more on this story in Thursday's Warrington Guardian.
