PAUL Cullen has made it clear that he has no problems with the fact that new assistant coach Jimmy Lowes is currently tied to the club for longer than himself.

Cullen's contract is currently scheduled to expire at the end of the season but Lowes was handed a deal to the end of 2008 when he joined Wolves as assistant last week.

Cullen was realistic that Lowes would have been unlikely to join the club had he only been given a three-month contract.

He said: "My current situation is there for all to see. It's not a drama or an issue for me.

"With the current players and staff that are out of contract at this club, no-one is being asked to do anything that the coach is being asked to do.

"We were never going to be able to get Jimmy Lowes to the club on a short-term contract from now to the end of the year. I've got no issue with that whatsoever.

"I've been part of the long-term plan for a sizeable period and obviously we're planning ahead for next year and beyond with the quality of players that we're bringing to the club."
