WOLVES winger Chris Riley explains his love of the Royle Family and what it's like to be recognised around Warrington.
Find out more about the talented youngster below.
Q. What are your hobbies?
A. I love going out and socialising with my friends. I used to play football but obviously I can't do that any more but I love going to watch my mates. I've got a lot of mates who play rugby league at amateur level so if I ever get a chance at the weekend if I'm not playing or I've already played, I'll go down and watch my mates play for Rylands Sharks. It's not too far away from my house so I know a few people there and I know Mark Forster who runs the first team down there.
Q. What is your favourite television programme of all time?
A. I used to watch the Royle Family and I loved that. Dave reminds me of my dad! They looked the same when my dad was a few years younger! I used to love watching that, especially with my dad. I used to sit down and laugh my head off.
Q. Do you watch any other sports?
A. I do like to watch football and I follow Liverpool. Anything that's on really. If I'm sat in my bedroom or downstairs I'll switch the television on and watch any sport - rugby union, football, cricket or whatever.
Q. If you weren't a rugby league player, what would you be doing?
A. I've always been into my rugby really so I don't have a clue what I'd be doing.
Q. Are you often recognised in the street?
A. I like to think I am! No, not really. I get pulled up every now and then with me being a Warrington lad. I know quite a few people and it's nice to get noticed every now and then but I try not to let it go to my head really.
Q. What nicknames have you ever had?
A. Well a few of the lads call me Ginger Ninja, anything to do with ginger really!
Q. What was most often written about you on your school report?
A. Never in, late! No, not really. Sometimes I wasn't the best of pupils and I really wish that I had concentrated in school. When I was there hopefully I did my best but it's behind me now.
Q. Who is your best friend in league?
A. Probably Kev Penny. We're always together, we ring each other say do you want to go out for something to eat or go shopping in Manchester. It sounds a bit girlie really! But we're always together at training.
Q. What is your favourite try of your career so far?
A. I scored a few tries for the Academy that I like to remember but it would have to be the try I scored for the first team against Widnes. It wasn't too bad, I was flying and I think that was the fastest everyone has ever seen me go! Hopefully I can get back to that pace.
Q. What are your memories of playing rugby league at school?
A. I like to think I was the best player really! I was playing loose forward for most of the time and I had a good teacher at Penketh High School, Mr Foster. I just used to love playing really. I had loads of good mates and school and I used to love scoring and anything to do with rugby really.
