WARRINGTON drew with bottom side Tattenhall in Cheshire County Cricket League Division Two at Walton Lea on Saturday.
The Tattenhall captain was overjoyed to bowl first after winning the toss but Warrington got off to a bright start.
M Agar hit 31 runs and, alongside a typical dogged 42 from B Smith, raised the total to 43 for 0 inside 10 overs.
A tumble from the middle order let the visitors back in but lower-order contributions from Steve Heydon, 20, B Morris, 19, and S Batey, 14, raised the total to 161.
Warrington then dominated in the field, with skipper Heydon grabbing four for 51, while under 21s captain Robert Batey was the pick of the players with 2 for 36.
Warrington's thirds achieved their first win of the season in a low-scoring game.
Birkenhead were put into bat and managed to score a respectable 141 all out.
Warrington started well and after a mid-innings mini crisis the ship was steadied and Warrington cruised to victory in the last over.
Top performers were Gilbert and Woodridge with the ball and Hastings and Naseem with the bat.
