LEE Briers has hailed Warrington's new assistant coach as a great catch.

Jimmy Lowes, the former Bradford Bulls and Great Britain hooker, signed for Wolves at the end of last week after leaving a similar post at Salford City Reds.

Wolves captain Briers said that Lowes had fitted quite a bit' of work into his three days leading up to the team's 47-28 win at Huddersfield Giants on Suunday.

Briers said: "He worked through some things with the forwards and he's helped me quite a lot.

"It's good to have someone on board with his experience, which is going to help enormously.

"He's a respected bloke in rugby league. He knows a lot about rugby and he's a winner, coming from the set-up at Bradford.

"It's good to have a new voice and it's good for Paul Cullen as well. He's going to help out Cull loads, which he has been missing."

Supporterters at the Galpharm Stadium on Sunday may have notice a change to the pre-match warm-up, which Lowes instigated.

The backs, as well as hooker Michale Sullivan, came out earlier than the forwards and were running through a number of kicking and handling drills.

Briers said: "It was something Jimmy wanted us to do. It seemed to work.

"Once you're in a rut you have to try different things and we're doing that."
