WOLVES are being linked with a deal to bring current Australian international Matt King to The Halliwell Jones Stadium for 2008.
The 26-year-old, who can play as a centre or a winger, has been one of the leading players for the Kangaroos and New South Wales for the last three years but has a clause in his Melbourne Storm contract allowing him to join an English club next season.
Wigan, Hull KR and Bradford were long thought to be the leading contenders to sign King but reports in Australia suggest Wolves could now be in a good position to clinch the capture of the former Cronulla player on a four-year deal.
Wolves boss Paul Cullen said: "If we do have anything to say we'll do it at the appropriate time.
"But I've said many times that we're a very ambitious club and we've got big plans left for this year, let alone next year."
