WOLVES will head into the crunch Easter period in buoyant mood after achieving a first Super League triumph of the season on Friday night.
Centre Ryan Atkins crossed for two tries in the first half as The Wire built up a winning lead against his hometown club Leeds Rhinos.
Easter, with its double-header of matches, is always a huge test of a squad and Wolves face a trip to arch-rivals Widnes Vikings on Thursday, kick off 8pm, with a home clash against Huddersfield Giants hot on its heels on Easter Monday, kick off 3pm.
Clubs consider their third game of Easter to be the one that follows, which sees Tony Smith's side host Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Saturday, April 22, kick off 3pm.
"That result against Leeds has been coming, it wasn't a matter of it but when," said Atkins.
"It was good to have a song again after the game, just that buzzing feeling.
"We're going to go into the Easter period confident.
"Hopefully we can pick up three wins over the Easter period and we could be back up in the mix ready for the top eight.
"Everybody's written us off but we're enjoying the challenge."
