WARRINGTON Town have appointed former Southport boss Paul Carden as their new manager.
The 37-year-old, who will be assisted by former Yellows striker Mark Beesley, takes over the reins at Cantilever Park following the departures of Stuart Mellish and Lee Smith on October 15.
After a playing career that took in Rochdale, Chester and Cambridge United, Carden was appointed Southport manager in 2015 and kept the club in the Conference National before leaving to coach at Tranmere.
He spent a spell as interim manager at Prenton Park earlier this season but left the club last week.
Carden’s first game in charge will be an FA Trophy clash with Nantwich Town at Cantilever Park on Saturday.
