CHRIS Sandow is a reluctant hero after his sensational match-winning drop goal as Warrington Wolves made it four wins from four at Salford Red Devils last night.
He handed the credit to his teammates, while accepting it was a ‘special’ end to the Super League Round 4 clash at the AJ Bell Stadium.
Sandow landed a 41-metre drop goal in treacherous conditions on the sound of the hooter to seal the 31-30 success, completing a fight back from 30-12 down.
“That’s what players live for, moments like that,” he told Warrington Guardian.
“I’m going to cherish that for the rest of my life, doing special likes like that, but I’m going to put the credit down to my teammates. I wouldn’t have done that without my teammates.
“It’s a team sport and brilliant stuff like that happens at the end, on the back of team efforts.”
