CARYS McAulay smashed a 34-year-old Warrington Athletics Club record to go top of the UK under 20s rankings.
The Great Britain teenager won a 600m indoor race at a Sale Harriers open meeting on Sunday in one minute 32.19 seconds.
The Scotland-born athlete, who competed at the Commonwealth and World Youth Games this summer, set a personal best that broke Warrington's junior record for the distance and also the club's senior record, set by Julie Hicken in 1981.
Ashley Nemits was also in form at Sportcity, Manchester, placing second in the under 15s girls' race in 1min 45.53secs to move second in the country for her age group.
Also at under 15s level, Charlotte Stokes and Lucia Meloni ran personal best times of 1min 52.81secs and 1min 56.41secs respectively.
Melissa Boyer won the under 17s race in 1min 40.50secs, followed by teammate Elizabeth Wright in third in 1min 42.39 seconds.
Both girls recorded personal best times.
In the men’s events, Jack Gleave recovered to make his only appearance of the year after a catalogue of injuries and finish third in his race in 1min 23.02secs.
In the 60m, sprinter Fisayo Williamson-Taylor won his race in a new personal best time of 7.21secs, while Ladislav Taric ran 8.08secs.
