AN Owen Ellis penalty in the first half was not enough for Eagle Sports as Congleton Vale grabbed an equaliser in an entertaining Cheshire League Premier Division game.
With snow still present on the pitch, the game was played at a slow pace and visiting keeper Craig Clare making some good saves early on.
Eagle then got their goal as Danny Nixon delivered from the right for Lee Boardman, who, despite missing the original chance, regathered and was then brought down by the keeper. Ellis finished well.
With Clare in inspired form, Vale struggled to break through until late in the second half when a substitute forward grabbed the home team a share of the spoils.
Eagle Sports: Clare, R Bishop, N Williams, Coleman, C Bishop, Shakeshaft, Nixon, Hope, Ellis, L Boardman, Maher, subs: Laws, Gallagher, M Boardman.
