Lymm 2 Didsbury Greys 2 (Didsbury win 3-0 on flicks)
LYMM’S run in the Investec Women’s Trophy ended with a defeat on penalty flicks against fellow North Hockey Division One side Didsbury Greys.
With the away team scoring first Lymm battled back and equalised when Nat Riley, Lisa Hartley-Woodrow and Helen Weston combined at a penalty corner to beat the keeper, Weston providing the finish.
Again Didsbury went ahead working the ball well down Lymm’s left flank, and taking that lead into half time.
Lymm improved after the break and a melee in front of goal was capitalised on when Hollie Acklam reverse swept past the keeper.
The game remained in the balance, both teams failing to score with well-manufactured opportunities in the dying minutes.
With the final whistle gone the game went immediately to flicks where Didsbury were clinical.
