WOOLSTON Rovers duo Jack Sherratt and Ryan Brown are hoping to end the season in style when they represent Lancashire in a county championship clash.
Sherratt, a prop forward, and hooker Brown are part of the squad for Sunday’s head-to-head with Cumbria at St Helens club Blackbrook.
Both made fine contributions to a victory at Yorkshire earlier this month, and a similar result will clinch the title for their side.
Meanwhile Woolston head coach John Fieldhouse has called a meeting for this Saturday to outline his plans for next season.
All current open age and under 18s players should attend, while new players who wish to sign on for 2016 – either at open age level or under 18s – are welcome too.
The summit, at Monks Sports Club on Hillock Lane, starts at 1pm.
Fieldhouse, who returned to the club at the beginning of last term, is already looking forward to a successful second campaign having been impressed with the quality of players at the club.
He feels all three teams at the club can improve further with another good pre-season under their belts.
Woolston finished fifth in the National Conference League’s Division Three before losing to Stanningley in a promotion play-offs semi final.
