PRIESTLEY College's rugby league side has earned seven call-ups for the forthcoming Under 18s European Championship in Scotland.
Following on from a highly successful year in which the side reached the National Cup Final, the college has been rewarded with five players making the English squad and two in the Irish squad.
Stand off Alex Thompson, centre Craig Howard, hooker Chris Payton, prop Adam Neal and back rower Mark Smith make up the English contingent, while hooker Danny O'Brien and centre Stephen Lenihan are the two named for Ireland.
England, who are coached by ex-Warrington Wolves star Steve McCurrie, will start as hot favourites against Ireland, Scotland and Wales in an intense week of competition at Sport Scotland's National Centre in Inverclyde this Easter to see who will be crowned European champions.
