Haydock 28 Rylands Sharks 38.
RYLANDS came from 20-6 down to win at Haydock in the North West Counties Amateur Rugby Leaue Premier Division on Saturday.
A lethargic opening 35 minutes cost Rylands three tries, with only Peter Leonard touching down for the visitors.
But tries from Mark Martin and man of the match Jonathan Smith just before half time reduced the deficit to four points and Rylands surged ahead after the interval thanks to a second try from Smith and further efforts from Carl Lloyd and Mike Ward.
Haydock responded with two tries but the rampaging Andy Smith completed the scoring for Rylands.
Southport and Ormskirk 20 Rylands Sharks A 14.
RYLANDS' A team's long unbeaten run was ended by a contentious refereeing decision at Southport and Ormskirk.
A match-levelling try from Danny Taylor in the closing stages was controversially disallowed for ball stealing, despite Rylands claiming it was a one-on-one tackle.
Danny Hoyland crossed twice for Sharks, with Peter Harrigan also touching down and Taylor adding a goal.
