Wakefield Trinity Wildcats 22 Warrington Wolves 28.

WARRINGTON Wolves under 21s went to the top of the Senior Academy Championship table with a thrilling last-minute victory at Wakefield in Sunday's Super League curtain-raiser.

Trinity and Wolves were all square 22-22 with one minute to go when Warrington broke free and a three-man passing move sent centre Anthony Jerram away for the match-winning try, goaled by Andy Moulsdale.

Trinity, who had Super League experienced props Danny Lima and Ricky Bibey in their ranks, led 10-0 at half time but were pegged back by a dogged Warrington outfit.

Wildcats' touchdowns came from Aaron Murphy, Austin Buchanan, two, and Steve Lewis, with Buchanan also landing two goals.

Chris Riley, Kevin Penny, Tyrone McCarthy, Matty Blythe and Danny Colquitt scored tries as Wolves kept chipping away.
