WOLVES will again have to 'up the ante' to cope with positional changes at Wakefield tomorrow, Sunday.

In the absence of Lee Briers and Adrian Morley, Paul Cullen will have to call on all the versatility within his squad to name a team capable of winning at Belle Vue.

At various stages during Wolves' 30-12 win against Hull KR last weekend, Henry Fa'afili, Martin Gleeson, Jon Clarke, Vinnie Anderson, Ben Westwood, Rob Parker and Mike Wainwright all moved away from their first-choice positions but coped superbly.

Hooker Clarke and loose forward Anderson teamed up in the halves, while Henry Fa'afili switched from the wing to the back row and right centre Martin Gleeson had a spell at stand off.

Back rower Westwood played at prop for a spell, while Parker - used mainly as a prop by Wolves - covered in the back row.

Veteran second rower Wainwright started at loose forward but defended in the second row to allow Morley to defend in the middle channels before his injury.

"When you are playing with so many players out of their usual positions, everyone else has to up the ante to be able to accommodate it," said Cullen.

"Mike Wainwright defended where he usually does but played offensively in a completely different position.

"He had to make sure his concentration stayed all the way through the game because his transition from offence to defence was completely different to what it usually is.

"We have had to play players out of position and react during game time and we've actually been able to win games with players out of position.

"To move a player from the wing to the second row is not an easy thing and Henry Fa'afili did it exceptionally well.

"Martin Gleeson played in two positions during the game, he played at right centre and he also played at half back and played on both sides of the field.

"Then he regathered his composure to play in his usual position.

"We practised that and rehearsed in training and unfortunately we had to do it but we were prepared for it.

"Benny Westwood played right second row and also played prop forward. A number of our guys went beyond the call of duty at the weekend because that was what was required to win that game."
