PAUL Cullen again felt forward passes gave the scoreline an unfair balance during Sunday's 30-12 home win against Hull KR.

Cullen was unhappy with some of the forward passes that St Helens were not pulled up for in the previous week's 48-12 home defeat and he felt both of Hull KR's tries should have been ruled out at the weekend.

"We were bitterly disappointed we conceded 12 points with two very contentious forward passes in the build-up to both tries, but they're the anomalies we have to face these days," said Cullen, who has been frustrated with some of the decision-making by officials in the early weeks of the season.

"We were without Lee Briers and Chris Bridge on Sunday but I think we showed we can play very good rugby against a side in form.

"We soaked up their teamwork, charisma and momentum and scored 30 points.

"We fought for everything - every inch, every ball offensively and defensively throughout the entire game.

"I thought we were very good for our 30 points and we were a bit disappointed that we didn't get another two or possibly three tries because we made the breaks and actually crossed the try line. Johnno had it knocked from his hands.

"Although the scoreline always gives a general reflection of how you've gone during a game, it didn't reflect how dominant we were really."
