LIFELONG Warrington Wolves fan Frances Taylor had an early birthday present at the weekend.
The Ryfields Retirement Village resident who celebrated her 100th birthday on Thursday, made a special trip to The Halliwell Jones Stadium to wish Wolves players good luck for Sunday's game with Hull Kingston Rovers.
And Frances' message certainly did the trick as Wolves beat the Humbersiders 30-12.
It was Frances' first visit to the new stadium and the pitch and seating in the North Stand certainly met with her approval.
She said: "I wish they had these seats at Wilderspool when I used to come and watch them, they are so much more comfortable."
While there, Frances shared memories of watching Brian Bevan play at Wilderspool with head coach Paul Cullen.
She said: "I remember the shouts from the fans Give it to Bev' every time the Wires got the ball. My favourite player in the 1974 team was Parry Gordon, he was a lovely looking man and a good player."
